A Proven Neighborhood Connection.
When I heard the results of this new neighborhood ministry program I was amazed. Based on 10-years of thorough field testing across America, the pilot projects yielded these results:
|
1. Of the homes contacted, 95% were willing to partner with the volunteer sponsoring church to end hunger in their city by giving food from their own cupboards.
2. 100% of those, said they would be glad to give on a continuing basis, welcoming the volunteer to return every 1-2 months.
3. And this is what I found particularly amazing...on the third visit, after a trust relationship was naturally built, 85% are willing to share a prayer need!
4. The stories go on, as trusted and respected volunteers almost become the "chaplain of their neighborhood." Ministry opportunities abound, people come to God, participate in the life of a church, and are transformed as they are discipled in the backdrop of a positive and holistic ministry perspective of church and ministry.
|
This has all the ingredients of a transformational strategy and is another good match for our systemic plan for citywide outreach.
I also feel that it has God's blessing all over it. Not only is it innovative, it has the timelessness of an Isaiah 58 ministry...the kind we know God will bless. And most likely, that is why He has done so in the pilot programs.
If you would like to be a host church, or even an "anchor" church for your city, call or email. If you are in the process of becoming Breakthough's partnering church in the Partner City Outreach Plan, you will already be receiving the complete start-up packet.
